The California State Disbursement Unit (SDU)
After a determination of legal responsibility and the calculation of a support amount have been done, a child support order will be entered. It will state the monthly amount due, on what date each month it is due, and where the payments should be sent.
Your child support payments will not be made directly to the other parent or the local court. Instead, your payments will go to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU). The SDU, created by the State of California in May 2006, is a central payment processing center devoted solely to the receipt and disbursement of child support payments. Upon receipt of your payment, the SDU will record the date and the amount of the payment and, if appropriate, forward the money to the other parent in a matter of days.
The SDU address is:
P.O. Box 989067
West Sacramento, CA. 95798
