Court Hearing Process
San Mateo County Department of Child Support cases are heard at County of San Mateo Superior Court, 400 County Center, Redwood City, CA. Please refer to your motion for the date, time, and department or contact DCSS (866) 901-3212 for information regarding your upcoming hearing.
Parking is available on the first floor of the county parking garage located on the corner of Veteran’s Blvd and Middlefield Rd. The parking rate is 50¢ per hour for a maximum of 4 hours. Street parking may be found adjacent to the courthouse. Rates will vary from 25¢ to 50¢ per hour with maximum hours ranging from 2 hours to an unlimited amount of time. Some meters only accept quarters.
Mandatory Meet and Confer Conference
The obligor parent and custodial parent are required to attend a mandatory meet and confer conference one hour prior to the court hearing at the San Mateo County DCSS office, 555 County Center, 2nd Floor, Redwood City. If the parties are not able to reach a stipulated agreement during the meet and confer conference, the parties will attend the hearing immediately following the conference at 400 County Center, Redwood City, a short walk across the court yard.

Request for Telephonic Appearance
Parties may be allowed to appear at their hearing by telephone instead of coming in person. All telephonic appearances are arranged by an independent vendor, CourtCall, and involve a fee for each appearance. For more information visit County of San Mateo Superior Court.

Because you are not a legal client, the information you provide is not confidential under the attorney/client privilege. Parents have the right to seek legal advice from a private attorney or legal aid group at their own expense, or the county Family Law Facilitator.
